Capturing the Greatest Experience

The Walt Disney Company is the greatest entertainment brand in the world. And for 45 years, Walt Disney World has been providing millions of families each year with enchanted experiences that last a lifetime.

The Challenge:

With the rise of travel review sites and user-generated content, Disney needed a centralized way to curate their customer experiences online through the Walt Disney World website. Disney approached Bazaarvoice, the world leader in online ratings and reviews, to leverage their technology for collecting and displaying user reviews on Walt Disney World resorts, restaurants and attractions.

Due to technological and logistical constraints, Disney would not be able to use a traditional implementation of the Bazaarvoice technology directly on the Walt Disney World website. Bazaarvoice wasn’t structured to take on these fully custom solutions themselves either.

The Solution:

Bazaarvoice reached out to Continion to help develop the custom ratings and reviews solution for Disney leveraging various APIs from both companies. Continion’s blending of technical know-how with on-brand design capability was key to establishing the trust between them, Bazaarvoice and Disney.

Working directly with Disney API teams, Continion become one of the first third-party vendors to integrate a web application with the Walt Disney World Facilities API and the Disney OneID API. Continion continues to be the technology partner to manage and maintain the Ratings & Reviews website.

The Result:

Over the past four years, The Walt Disney World Ratings & Reviews website has generated over 58,000 reviews for over 1,000 resorts, restaurants and attractions. The Walt Disney World Ratings & Reviews has become the premier online destination for families to share their Walt Disney World experiences. Additionally, Disney has been able to leverage the scalable website application for use with other parks.
